Objective of the assignment

• To conduct a study on Carbon Pricing Assessment for Brunei Darussalam.

Scope of work

1. Conduct qualitative study of carbon pricing assessment: The study will

• Review the carbon inventory and sources.
• Evaluate the policy readiness and institutional framework in Brunei.
• Identify the gaps and opportunities in setting up the carbon pricing.
• Recommend the type of carbon pricing to be implemented, sectors to be targeted, and policies/institutions to be prepared.

2. Conduct quantitative analysis of carbon pricing impacts

• Design carbon pricing scenarios (type, size, sectors, timeline).
• Develop the model and quantitatively assess the economic and emission impacts of carbon pricing scenarios.
• Provide recommendation of carbon pricing options and roadmap.
