The 3rd Working Meeting on the Development of the 6th ASEAN Energy Outlook

Description

This is the 3rd Working Meeting on the development of the 6th ASEAN Energy Outlook (AEO6), the flagship publication of the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE). The objective to discuss regional energy modelling result, analysis, and regional action plans, that we are developing in consultation with policy makers and energy experts from all ASEAN Member States, responding to their national policies. The agenda is designed for a discussion in in identifying the gaps to achieve APAEC targets and collaborative efforts to reach the aspiration regional targets, for the development of the full report. The report is expected to provide the input as well for the development of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) Phase II: 2021-2025. The AEO6 is targeted to be presented and launched at the 38th AMEM in Vietnam in September 2020.

The development of the AEO6 is the collaboration between the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the ASEAN-German Energy Programme (AGEP). The ASEAN Climate Change and Energy Project (ACCEPT) is provided the collaboration support.

ACCEPT is also strongly involved as member of the modelling team, and its researchers contribute to the enhancement of the AEO6 to more clearly articulates the implications of energy-related climate policy and sustainable development goals.
