Description
The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) through the ASEAN Climate Change and Energy Project (ACCEPT) are pleased to arrange a study tour for ASEAN Member States (AMS) representatives to energy and climate institutions in Norway as part of the project output.
The study tour will facilitate dialogue and knowledge sharing between Norway and the AMS towards advancing regional energy-climate nexus collaboration and for AMS to learn from Norway’s experience and strategy to meet their ambitious target of being a low emission society by 2050. It aims to acquaint AMS representatives with Norwegian governments, institutions and international organizations working on energy and climate issues. It is also designed to provide insight, direct learning, and direct observation for AMS policy makers to gain inspiration from partner country, in order to enhance the ASEAN knowledge and capacity to move towards Low-Carbon Energy System and contribute towards carbon neutrality or net zero in the coming years.
The study tour will support the implementation of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) Phase II: 2021-2025, particularly Programme Area No. 6, Regional Energy Policy and Planning, Outcome-based Strategy (OBS) 6, “Promote information Sharing on the Energy-Climate Nexus”.
