ASEAN-IEA Webinar: Improving Compliance for Cooling Products in Southeast Asia

Description

Energy efficiency can play a key role in enabling a sustainable and clean energy future for ASEAN Member States while fuelling economic growth, job creation and enhancing peoples’ standard of living, while avoiding a dramatic increase in energy demand.

Proven energy efficiency policy options for appliances and equipment, including minimum energy performance standards (MEPS), product energy efficiency labelling, and incentive programmes have the potential to reduce peak demand, improve energy security, reduce carbon emissions and consumer bills.

This Webinar will explore best practice for designing and implementing appliance compliance programmes and will feature a particular focus on cooling products and is part of a collaborative project between the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the ASEAN Member States through the Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation Sub Sector Network, the ASEAN Secretariat and the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and is supported by the ASEAN-Australia Development Cooperation Program Phase II (AADCP II) to develop regional roadmaps for buildings and space cooling.
